Make your miles count and run for COCO!
COCO (Comrades of Children Overseas) is an international children’s charity based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and co-founded by former Olympic athlete and BBC Commentator Steve Cram MBE. COCO works in remote regions of Tanzania, Kenya and Ghana with people living in poverty and aims to encourage community development so that children can go to school and gain an education. COCO’s projects are tailor-made to each community they work with and can range from the construction of a classroom in a Maasai village, the promotion of sustainable farming techniques, providing small business loans for entrepreneurs to the provision of books and resources for school children.
The late Nelson Mandela once said that “Education is the greatest weapon that you can use to change the world” and that is a belief shared by Steve and the team at COCO.
Make your miles count and run for COCO at the Worcester City 10K or Run Bike Run, the sponsorship that you raise for COCO really helps to transform lives for the better and will give thousands of children living in poverty the opportunity of an education and a brighter future. The team at COCO will support you every step of the way with your training and fundraising; you’ll receive a special fundraising pack and a stylish Team COCO running vest to wear with pride on race day. You’ll also receive a special training tips email from Steve Cram which is exclusive to Team COCO runners and the chance for one lucky runner to meet Steve on the day of the run for a chat and photo.
